When Karen joined us last Friday, we were privileged to hear the fascinating and incredibly inspiring story of how she opened Cupola gallery, on a shoestring, against all the odds, and is still going strong 25 years on! After hearing the story it seems only fitting that Cupola would want to celebrate their 25th birthday in style with the community that has supported the gallery for all those years. Cue HillsFest 2016, an ambitious festival of art and music planned for Hillsborough Park on 9th and 10th July 2016.
HillsFest looks set to be huge, with five inflatable themed domes; Creative Showcases, Maker’s Activities, Spoken Word & Film, Sound & Movement and Taste. Not only are we looking forward to going to the festival, but we also want to support Karen and the festival organisers to make it as amazing as Hillsborough and Sheffield deserve! We all know how important the arts are to people and communities and that is why events like this are SO important.
The festival will be free to attend and is not for profit so Cupola and the team need your help! Whether you can steward on the day, offer a few hours admin support, help with marketing effort and crowd funding campaign, contribute to community engagement and liaison activities, offer goods or services support or advice, they would like to hear from you!
Watch this space for some Mama Social fundraising!
